Gods decree or mans?
Well this is just a short snippet of what God was encouraging me with the other day, We were looking through the news papers and allowing the Holy Spirit to move our hearts as to what we should be prayin about.
As i looked through the papers i started feeling discoraged by the state of the nation, but God spoke to me through Daniel 6:10 where it says Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
The writing that it talks about is the decree that no one could petition any God or man other than the king for 30 days. I imagine as Daniel was a man of prayer he would have been praying that this law did not come into being, but never the less it did, what amazed me was his response when the law was passed anyway, He wasn’t moved by it in that he did exactly what he had always done, he prayed and gave thanks to God. He stood undetterred firm in his faith in God.
This encoraged me as we pray into issues affecting our nation, for our eyes to be fixed on God undetterred and in fact spurred on to further prayer, by what we see happening around us.
